Garnett and his "war of words"

Kevin Garnett apologized for his "poor choice of words." The war analogy is used so often in sports, it's become a cliche. I don't really have a problem with what he said, but in this time of war, it just reminds us how silly the war analogy is.



That said, I don't think Garnett should have to apologize. I'm mean how is what he said offensive? Everyone knows he's not REALLY loading up M-16s and 9mm's! That is one of those circumstances that people overreact and don't use common sense.



Of course, if Garnett had said he was strapping dynamite to his chest or readying his stilleto to decapitate the Kings, that might be in poor taste, but he didn't. I guess this episode just shows how image-conscious the NBA is.
