So, the Dems are worried that they aren't able to take advantage of what they see as Bush's problems.
"We seem to be losing our voice when it comes to the basic things people worry about," Mr. Dodd said.I'd hate to give advice to Democrats, not that they'd take it, but it seems to me that all we hear from them is anti-Bush rhetoric. They don't ever speak of a positive agenda that Americans desire, i.e., something other than taxation, regulation, litigation and the United Nations.
We've heard from them after the last 2 elections that they didn't get their message out there. Each time after the last 2 elections, it appeared that the Dems decided that the way to get "their message" out there was to scream louder about how evil Bush is. Obviously, that didn't work, and maybe its all the screaming that caused them to lose their voice.
With that in mind, I suggest the Dems come out and say, "who cares about Bush, this is what we are for" and then go down the list of things they are for, if there is anything. They need to be honest of course, so the list should include raising taxes, universal government run health care, protectionist trade policies, abdication of foreign policy decisions to the UN, government paid abortions on demand, racial, gendera and sexual orientation quotas in contracting, admissions and employment, and homosexual marriage. I'm not saying this agenda will produce good election results or that ALL Dems are in favor of these positions, but it takes time to build electoral majorities, so they might as well get started now.
