If you join the military, for whatever purpose you can think of, "money, skills""money, skills", learn computers, whatever: YOU MIGHT GO TO WAR. YOU MIGHT BE KILLED IN BATTLE. THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED THE ARMY. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS IN A WAR!. My point is that soldiers are not victims and especially when our military is made up entirely of VOLUNTEERS. No one has to join the military. That's one of the great things about this country.
Obviously, this lady is bitter that her son was killed, but by her tone, its equally obvious that she was anti-Bush from the get-go and probably pretty ticked off that her son even joined the U.S. military to begin with. She just clearly doesn't understand the role of the military and the history of civilian leadership over the military in this country. Lastly, she doesn't appreciate she can spread her bile and the hate of her words because young men like her son are willing to die for the freedoms that she is abusing.
