It's not a draft...

...if you sign up voluntarily. The "back-door draft" routine is what the NYTimes considers to be "fresh elements" added to standard remarks. Actually, seeing that John Edwards is still campaigning with Flipper is kinda fresh. Where has he been? Oh, I'm sure he was brushing up on his "fresh" remarks that we've heard before again and again, such as, "We're not going to continue to have people coming in the back door." Is that a Bill Clinton/Porn reference? On a lighter note, Edwards said that the ability of the government to discrimiate against whites, Asians, and Arabs was hanging by a thread and that a Kerry administration would ensure that such discrimination never ends, even if Justice O'Connor's clock strikes midnight.
