Rick Perry strikes the right chord

During his candidacy announcement, Rick Perry said "And I’ll promise you this: I’ll work every day to make Washington, D.C. as inconsequential in your life as I can."

I've often said that America needs to be a place where it doesn't matter that much who wins elections because their power is so limited and they can't really do much damage. America needs to be a country where politics doesn't much matter. To me, Perry is getting to the heart of that. I have heard that type of thing in ages. It's about time.
